What is an ultrasound?
Ultrasounds are a type of medical imaging scan which use high-frequency sound waves to produce images of internal body structures. These types of scans are very safe, do not involve radiation and are typically minimally invasive and pain-free.
Ultrasounds can also be used in Interventional Radiology procedures, like needle biopsies and injections, as the real-time images allow a radiologist to administer medication with precision.
At North Coast Radiology, we perform a wide range of ultrasound scans including general, pregnancy, musculoskeletal, and vascular scans.
