CT NOW OPEN GOONELLABAH North Coast Radiology Goonellabah is proud to announce the addition of a brand-new CT scanner to our service.   The state-of-the-art Cannon CT technology aims to optimise scanning for our patients and offers Low Dose CT scans. A CT Scan is used to look at the internal structures of the body. Both soft tissues (eg brain, liver, kidneys, lungs) and bone can be seen. The images are cross-sections of the body, and the CT computer generates a great variety of images, based on what the doctor is looking for. 3D Mammography

2D Digital Mammography is the most common breast imaging method used in Australia, however research shows it has some limitations. It can miss some cancers and produce false positives as structures can overlap and normal tissue may appear as abnormal, leading to further testing and unnecessary patient anxiety. Breast Tomosynthesis or 3D Mammography uses newer technology to help reduce detection challenges with conventional 2D Mammography. MRI comes to Ballina

North Coast Radiology Group is continuing to expand its services with the introduction of MRI services from our Ballina branch. Installed in late 2014, the 1.5T MRI machine will enable us to support patients with their non-medicare eligible examinations. Generally, these are examinations which are requested by GP's or Allied Health for which no medicare rebate is available. Rebateable examinations will be booked at our Lismore and Grafton practices for the Northern NSW region....
